You're very welcome, Salwar (and everyone else). I have more ready access to this sort of thing than most of the rest of you do, so especially when it's as serious as this, I want to make sure everyone gets word in time.

By now you've all probably heard about the Heartbleed virus that has attacked the servers of major financial and commercial organizations. Changing your password will *not* help until and unless each affected site has instituted the remedy (but as soon as your ISP, bank, retailer has done so, that's what you should do). DO NOT LOG IN to any website that has access to your personal information (SSN, credit card numbers, account numbers) until you've checked www.filippo.io/Heartbleed/ to confirm that that site is fixed. If it has been, change your password; if it hasn't, don't use it until it has.
Please note that this virus bypasses the https site security (also indicated by a little yellow padlock icon). It unlocks the encryption technology so that hackers can steal your data. No one knows yet whether it's been used successfully, so please keep an eye on your credit card and bank statements, too.
Best to all,
