Vegetable Grace

I'd like to write a poem about bugs

That gnaw the branches from the tree of life

Like pine beetles feeding on Walden's Ridge

Or wooly adelgid eating hemlocks,

But that is putting the muse to the test:

Milton knew vegetable gold was for sale

After Eve feed man salad leaves of kale.
