I have no wish to derail this riveting discussion of Books II and III, but I wanted to call the list's attention to this extraordinary video. Using the latest video game and graphic design technology and combining it with maps and engravings from the British library, some English graduate students have recreated 17th century London before the great fire. The video takes you through the streets as though you were walking or gliding through them.

There's been a good deal of discussion about how technology and the humanities ought to be integrated. This is only one example, it seems to me, of the kind of exciting things that are now possible and especially useful for teaching purposes.

Best wishes,
