[Milton-L] John Shawcross sad news

So immensely sad.  He was an amazing man... so smart, so kind. And it was only four or five years ago that we did the lindy hop together at Donne time.

        I feel the same, Lee. He befriended me in an elevator at my first Milton Dinner (1970!), and remembered me the very next time. He's been a most wonderful friend and colleague over the years. I'm sure there are so many of us who feel immense indebtedness and are grateful for the debt!
