Many of you should have received this latest update from the IMS10 organizers. I am planning to attend the conference as scheduled if that is the decision of the organizing committee. It is understandable that there are concerns, however, giving the organizers time until the end of this month to assess their options is reasonable. My thoughts are with all those in Japan during this time of crisis and recovery.

> Dear all:
> Below is a statement from the IMS10 Organizing Committee. This statement will be circulated on the Milton listserv also so many of you may receive it twice. Also this statement may be viewed at the IMS10 web site at http://ims10.blogspot.com/
> At the present time, most governments are advising their citizens against non-essential travel to Tokyo. Under such circumstances, travel insurance
> may be void or difficult to obtain; institutions may advise or instruct their members against participation; individuals may form their own view
> that it would be unsafe for them to travel. We propose that the position should be kept under review until 29 April. If at that point there is no
> significant revision to the travel advice, the August conference will not take place and local organisers will prepare a plan for a rescheduled event
> in 2012.
