Has   research been done on the Sycamore Fig?

I'm not aware of any literary, if that's what you're looking for, or even any historical-botanical treatments of the Sycamore Fig. I find here only two recipes, both "gourmet" for what that's worth, and one perhaps marginally relevant limerick:
The Sycamore Fig is a curious plant
As attracting the bee and repelling the ant;
Though its fruit is not big
In the way of a fig
Its leaf, dearest Adams and Eves, is not scant.
