Milton punctuated on different principles. To parse the line in a way
that would in our practice require a comma is not to suggest an
emendation.

"Swerve not, too secure" is a nice paradox, like "happy fall." By the
way, let me take this opportunity to wish everyone on this list a
happy fall.
