I'd recommend Ann Hughes' The Causes of the English Civil War. 2nd Revised Ed. Palgrave Macmillan; 1998.

It is available in paperback, but it is not necessarily as affordable as one would like it to be.

Dear all,

Do you have any recommendations of a couple of good, simple historical
sources that can give beginning graduate students a solid intro into the
English Civil Wars and Revolution ,and the different phases/issues of
Parliament at that time?

All speed and help appreciated.
