Does Treip deal with any of this?

Treip, Mindele Anne. Allegorical Poetics and the Epic
the Renaissance Tradition to "Paradise Lost".
Lexington: University Press of Kentucky, 1994.

I seem to recall reference to emblems ... or am I
thinking of some other book?
