I second that motion, Peter.
This particular worm ("My Doom") apparently has some of the attributes of a
virus--so that it not only sends its annoying self to everyone in the
infected source's address book, it also carries executable code that (if you
open the attachment) gives your computer commands to destroy anything from a
number of files important to its operation to catastrophic destruction that
takes you out of commission altogether until your computer has been stripped
of all its programs and reloaded. Often, your data is recoverable, but
sometimes, it isn't, so it's important for everyone to have a good virus
protection program on his/her computer. Above all, don't open attachments
unless you know who they're from and what they are; as with this e-mail
"from John Leonard," they may not be the innocent things they seem.
