I would go farther than Carol Baron and Laurie Johnson: Wolf's actions look
an awful lot like entrapment.

Re memorization:

I taught senior high English Literature for 26 years and I used to make
students memorize up to 200 lines a semester. (That's the legal limit in
British Columbia.).
