Hi again! I would like to confirm that our meeting will be held
tomorrow, 4/5, at noon in room 114. Dean Roberta Sachs is planning on
attending and will give a short talk about some of her experiences as a
producer for Dateline. This should be a very interesting meeting.
On a related topic, I have not heard from anyone interested in running
for office next year. To put it in perspective, the same thing happened
last year; Marty, Will, Alisa and I stepped up in the end to keep the
organization going. I am hoping for a similar showing this year. It's
hard, I know. The one thing we all have in common is lack of time and
this is not the kind of organization that gets top billing on a resume.
But, in the right hands, NLSA has the potential to help students like
ourselves and it would be a shame to see this organization die out so
early. Anyway, I'll step off my soap box; we can discuss in more detail
tomorrow!
Don't forget to bring a lunch! Drinks will be provided.
Matt

OK. Our meeting will be rescheduled for next week. The new date will
most likely be Thursday, 4/5, but I want to check first to see if there
are any conflicting meetings scheduled. I will let you know.
Matt

Subject: [Nlsa] NLSA Meeting Thursday, March 29th at Noon - Room 114
Hello everyone,
I have scheduled a NLSA meeting for Thursday, March 29th in room 114 and
have invited Roberta Sachs to share some of her experiences as a
producer of Dateline etc. If she can join us I expect the discussion to
be very interesting and well worth your time. If she cannot, I will ask
Prof. Lain to share her most memorable cases as a prosecutor in Henrico
County. I had her for Criminal Law and her stories were great!
We also need to elect officers for next year, discuss our group's goals
and continued viability, and decide on how we want to spend the rest of
our budgeted funds for this year. We don't meet often, so please come
to this meeting. I know that this date and time conflicts with the
"mandatory" CSO meeting, but please make arrangements to attend the CSO
meeting on Friday.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO RUN FOR ANY OF THESE POSITIONS:
PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, TREASURER, OR SECRETARY.
Thanks!
Matt
