Hello! I hope you and your families enjoyed the holidays. I know my
kids certainly did!
Before the break I talked with Dean Rahman about a brochure from NLSA to
aid in admissions. She liked the idea, but pointed out that it takes
quite a while to get a brochure through the development and printing
process while letters can be just as effective. She was very
enthusiastic about our participation in the admissions process and asked
if we could put together a somewhat more comprehensive plan in addition
to any letters we may write. Dean Rahman will cover all expenses.
Therefore, I proposed the following plan to Clinton based on
recommendations from Dean Rahman:
1. By January 23rd, compose a letter to be sent to applicants which
includes information on NLSA, why they should consider choosing URSOL,
quotes from us on the benefits our school has to offer, and an
invitation to attend our March 21st symposium.
a. I am drafting the letter and ask for quotes, ideas and
input from you, please!
2. March 21st Symposium, with lunch provided by admissions.
3. May, 2006. Compose a second letter to deposited applicants with
helpful tips and reassurances that they too can succeed. This letter
may be limited to "non-traditional" applicants only or sent to all who
have sent in their deposit.
4. June/July 2006. Volunteers to call deposited "non-traditional"
applicants to see if they have any questions or if we can help in any
way.
5. August 2006. Staff table at orientation.
Your feedback, comments and assistance would be greatly appreciated!
See you soon,
Matt
