[ModelUN] Thursday meeting!

Well guys, I've got some good news and some...well, honestly, the best
term is probably "meh."

The good news is multi-part! Hooray!

First, we will have a meeting this week! Same bat time, same bat channel -
THC 331 (I think - it's the biggest room on the right when you go
upstairs), 7:00 PM on Thursday!

Second good news, we got our country allocation for UPMUNC! Hooray! That
means that we can start research on the country and start figuring out our
positions! Hooray! New knowledge! New ideas! New perspectives!

And now...the...other news!

Our country is...MAURITANIA.

Yes. You heard right.

MAURITANIA.

(Hey, at least we're not Togo or St. Lucia.)

I hope you're all as thrilled as I am at representing this amazing,
powerful, and 100% relevant-to-all-possible-topics country!

Now I wouldn't be surprised, being the intellectually and internationally
savvy lot that ya'll are, if it turned out that everyone already knows
exactly where it is and all about it. But just in case that's not the

. Basically, we are representing a west African Islamic state with a
population of about 3 million that is dominated by the Sahara.

Anyway, we'll have our meeting on Thursday, talk about the conference and
Mauritania, maybe simulate debate a bit more if people are up for it (and
probably talk about something different that everyone knows about besides
nukes), etc. Hope to see you all there!

And one final, very, very, very, very, very (...very*n, you get the idea)
important thing: MONEY. If you're going to UPMUNC, we need your delegate
fees. Please bring a check made out to the University of Richmond for $35.
(That's THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS). Please note that this is your deposit for
the conference - by giving us your money, you're committing 100% to attend
the conference, which of course we sincerely hope that you do! =D

If you've already paid, obviously, don't worry about it.
