[Milton-L] Du Bartas online on Google Books

They're not viewable to me in Britain either. My guess is that not even Google has copied them in yet. In any case, Google Books is not meant to be an on-line library . . . yet. It's more like Big Brother reminding us that He has us in his power.
The way to go for Sylvester, Du Bartas, and the rest is Early English Books Online (EEBO). You may also find some French-English texts of this type (without a subscription needed) at the Gallica interface of the Bibliotheque Nationale de France.
Cheers,
Robert

Could somebody explain to
me, why some, allegedly available, google books (like the ones mentioned in
John Geraghty’s post) are not viewable, let alone downloadable to me (in
Hungary)? Is there some kind of area restriction or subscription limit?

online on Google Books
I just remembered Google Books and found
the entire text:
http://books.google.com/books?id=UE8NAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA28&dq=joshua+sylvester+weekes&lr=&as_brr=1&output=text#c_top
It can also be viewed in plain text and
downloaded as a PDF (5.8mb):
http://books.google.com/books/download/The_Divine_Weeks_of_Josuah_Sylvester.pdf?id=UE8NAAAAYAAJ&output=pdf&sig=ACfU3U2YNwcQzxfrB0m5FD1dAEa_39WMzQ
If you explore Google Books, you'll
probably find more. One that might be useful to you is:
