Angelica,
Doré apparently painted the illustrations in 1865-1866. They were
published in ""Milton's Paradise Lost. illustrated by Gustav
Doré. Edited with Notes and a Life by Robert Vaughan. London:
Cassell, Petter, And Galpin." It is undated but generally cited
as 1866. It was reprinted in New York at the same time. It's a folio.
I believe you'll find a copy at the Newberry; University of Kentucky has
a copy, as does the University of South Carolina as well as the
twenty-five original parts (printed in quarto size): the book and the
parts are
in the Robert J. Wickenheiser Collection in South Carolina.
