   In the DOCTRINE AND DISCIPLINE OF DIVORCE, Milton writes critically of
Jerome's view of marriage.  See the Hughes edition of Milton's works, p.
703.

   Have you looked up "Jerome" and "Vulgate" in the Index to the Columbia
Edition of Milton's works?
