[Milton-L] Bibliographical references on figures of monsters in PL

There is a call for papers on figures of monsters and monstrosity in literature in Brazil and we thought about having a paper on this theme and Paradise Lost. We would like to know if any of you could suggest bibliographical references on such theme, figures of monsters or monstrosity on Paradise Lost.
