Blessings on Professor Herman. May his tribe increase!

In my experience, when I have provided evidence to our bookstore of a significantly lower price, in particular on amazon.com, they have matched that price. Recently, in a course on "THe Literature of Terrorism," I ordered three novels that were so new they were still in hardcover (2 have since come out in paperback). The list price was between $25-$30, but amazon had them for about $16.95, not significantly more than a paperback. When asked the bookstore if they would match the price, they said that if students brought in evidence of the lower price, that's what they would be charged. So, using the magic of Blackboard, I supplied the requisite links, and the students got the books at lower prices.
Sometimes capitalism works.
