Angelica Duran opines that "College and university are important 
investments, and students should be willing to make the investments."

It's nice that you can feel that way. But not all of us were fortunate 
enough to do "20+ work-hours a week grad student in a private university." 
Some of us worked 40 hours a week, drove 50 miles to grad school--in a 
public university, on student loans we're still paying--at night, taught 
professionally on the nights we didn't have class to make ends meet, and 
supported a household (widowed mother, two younger siblings) at the same 
time.

Willing to make the investment? It depends upon one's perspective.

(I am, by the way, at 50+ still paying off those student loans, and have no 
academic post to justify it.)
