I am not aware of antique summaries (argumenta or hypotheses) prefixed to the subdivisions of epics (Homer, Apollonius Rhodius, Virgil, Statius, etc.). They do occur routinely in MSS. of tragedies. They are of course ubiquitous in early modern texts of various narrative genres.
