   Thank you for the online reference. As for a Portuguese online version, you'll find one at http://lusiadas.gertrudes.com/.
   
  The preface belongs to a nineteenth century edition with its original spelling. The poem has modernised spelling and the inclusion of topic-indicating lines which, if helpful, can be a little annoying somtimes. I haven't checked the accurary of the whole text, but the passages I´ve read are just fine.
