[Milton-L] Tolstoy on PR?

Colleagues and friends on the Milton List:

    Does anyone recall a comment of a rather scathing nature by Tolstoy 
on the figure of the Son in PARADISE REGAINED?   Dimly I recall 
something by the Russian novelist, cited by a British scholar mid-20th 
century, about Milton's Jesus threatening to destroy Christianity 
itself.   If you can point me to such a statement or disabuse me of my 
error I would be grateful.
