Dear Miltonists,

I don't know if this post is redundant but I haven't seen any references to this subject yet.

BBC7 has been broadcasting an edited radio recitation of Paradise Lost, featuring Ian McDiarmid (you might recognize him as the Emperor from Star Wars) as Satan. The production is now on Book 8, I think. Some of the important scenes have been excised for economy, such as Satan's response to Abdiel, but I think it's a very good adaptation nonetheless (this edited version is projected to reach about 15 hours!)

You can tune into it for free online at the BBC7 Drama website. You can also listen to the past week's archive of audio at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/sunday/index.shtml (this past week includes the War In Heaven). If you aren't able to access either of these venues, I also think BBC will be publishing it on CD early next year. Check www.audiobookcollection.com and www.bbcshop.com for periodic.

Have a Merry Christmas!
