I think the informality and disorganization of the meeting set a good tone for the team in general... But seriously, I really think that this is going to be a great year and that we will grow very quickly. I thought Chris was great a coach; he really made us do it. My only problem with it was the lack of cohesion between the A Setters and the B Setters. I will announce the officers at tonight's practice. It looks like everyone wants to go to the William & Mary meet. For some reason I had the wrong date for homecoming: homecoming is actually on the 25th of October. So, there is no conflict at all with the meet at W&M on the 19th. The meet will be from 2-6pm against CNU, VCU, and W&M. With over 25 people going, it looks like we will need to charter a bus. With the meet just around the corner, we need to decide on and order suits. On Sunday we will decide suits, any suggestions are welcome. If anyone wants to have a go at coaching, I support it completely. Let me know and I will give you a practice to run. Its fun and its a good exercise in leadership whether applied to swimming or life. The bylaws have been amended. Officers can be from any class year, but will come up for reelection each semester in September or January. Dues have been decided on at $70.00 per person. I think that we are going to blow through that pretty fast; they need to cover everything from suits, to hotels, to parties, and meet entry fees. We can up it now or cross that bridge when we get to it. We will have a qualifier skirmish against ourselves in the very near future. Everyone needs a seed time before we enter the W&M meet. Thats the state of the team for now. By the way, I really meant it when I said that putting this team together has been my proudest accomplishment at Richmond, but I give all the credit to you guys. A team is only as good as the people you are working with and the rate at which we have grown is unprecedented, especially for such a new team. I really think that with such a good group of people (both in and out of the water) we will do very well competitively and be sustainable into the future. I will see you guys at 7:00 tonight.
